Free Valentines Day banner/home decor!

Friday, January 18, 2013

I was going to use the papers I made for the last freebie for this banner, but this one turned out so great I wanted to share! It's on sale in my shop right now, but will be free to download on here for a week. In the download you will receive four, 4" x 4" files that will spell out "Love".
After you have printed them, if you want to use them for a banner, you can just use a hole puncher to make the holes to hang each one with.
If you want, you can also use them as home decor. You can place all four into an 8" x 10" frame, and display that way, or you can frame each individual one.

Please do not share, instead link back to my blog, thank you! Download link can be found under the preview, enjoy!

Free zebra print "Happy Birthday" banner.

Thursday, September 13, 2012

In honor of my daughter's birthday (9-14-12) I decided to make up one more zebra print, happy birthday banner. Unlike the other one I made that is a teal/magenta themed, which you can see here. This one I made with the classic black/white theme, and goes great with the free printable invitations, which you can see here. I also added pink dots so you can easily see where you will use the hole puncher to add the ribbon at, on each square. Each square is a 300ppi, 4"x4" image. Download link can be found under the image, and please leave a comment if you download. Thank you & enjoy!

Cupcakes!

Sunday, September 9, 2012

I'm making the cupcakes for Kayla's birthday that is coming up next week and thought it would be best to practice, since I have never tried to decorate a cupcake before. I think the came out pretty well. What do you think?

There will be 8 like this on the dessert table. The sugar candy, plastic cups and the wrappers came from http://www.birthdayexpress.com/

The rest of the cupcakes will be displayed like this.
I really love how they turned out, and not bad for practice ones, (Even tasted delicious). It will be great to see how they look on the finished dessert table!

D.I.Y. zebra print decorations.

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

I finished a new pair of decorations this morning! Absolutely adorable, if I do say so myself. I found a similar idea on Pinterest and couldn't resist making one to match the party theme. I won't post a picture tutorial for it, as it is quite easy to do.
Here they are (Sorry for the sway in them, there was a breeze in the room)

Supplies you will need:
-Empty cans
-Scissors
-Roll(s) of crepe paper
-Glue (any type will work)
-Ribbon/twine
-Nail,knife,hole puncher (depending on the can you use)

Here is how you do it;
Step one- Find a pair of empty cans that are the size you want. (I used formula cans), and take off the wrapper.
Step two- With your roll of crepe paper, cut 8" increments. (It length depends on the size of your cans, and how long you want the bottom to hang.) These will be the bottom layer.
Step three-  Dived the size you used for the bottom layer in 1/2, and use that  for the cuts you will need for the top layer. Ex: I used 8" parts for the bottom layer, so I used 4" parts for the top.
Step four- Start about 1/2 way up the can and make a line of glue around. Make another line of glue close to the bottom of the can, and then one more in between those two lines.
Step five- Start adding your longer strips of crepe paper around the can, overlapping the previous one as you go along until you have completely finished the bottom layer.
Step six- With the shorter strips, repeat steps four and five.
Step seven- Find a tool that you will be able to poke three holes through the can, and make the three holes.
Step eight- Cut your twine/ribbon into three equal lengths. (Lengths will vary depending on where and how low you're hanging it at.)
Step nine- Put one piece of twine through the hole, and make a good knot, then repeat with the other two. Once you have finished you will tie the three together and it's ready to hang.

Zebra print FREE printable banner!

Saturday, September 1, 2012

Yes, you read that right! I made this "Happy birthday" banner for my daughters first birthday (which is in a couple weeks) and thought it was too cute to not share. Each letter is a 300ppi 5"x5" square. This banner would go great with the free printable invitations which you can see here. All you will need to do (besides print them out) is use a hole puncher, on either side of each letter to hang with ribbon. I really hope you can enjoy this as much as I will. Have a great day everyone!

More birthday items made!

Friday, August 24, 2012

I finished some more of the party items today!
Here are the filled favor bags, and tags. I used the same template that I have as a free printable from a previous entry, and printed the tags out in a grey scale instead of color.

Below are the utensil holders and the lollipop holder. (Lollipops and utensils will be added the day of the party). The utensil containers are soup cans with scrap book paper wrapped around them and glued. I used napkins for the top, glued and cut out the inside so the utensils can fit. The "M" tag is from another set of water bottle labels that I made. I also tied some matching curling ribbon around them and added 1 piece of sugar candy in the middle to cover the knot. (The sugar candy was cut in half to make it easier to glue). The sucker container is a baby formula container wrapped in scrap book paper.

I also managed to finish, print, and cutout the new water bottle labels. It's exciting to see everything start to come together. I have some fun food ideas to make, as well as print out the banner, which will all be shown in the final birthday post next month! Tutorials are always available if you want them, have a great night!

DIY matching wall art.

Friday, August 17, 2012

I have a set of ottomans that I re-upholstered ( I can make a tut for that if someone would like one). They were a hideous orange and black checkered pattern. They now look like this: I had fabric left over and decided to make a matching wall piece, and here is how it was done. It took all of ten minutes from start to finish. I still have enough fabric leftover to make a piece that I can frame, which can be done by using the same process, except using just cardboard and fabric glue.
